CHILD AT RISK

As part of our mission in Fantsuam Foundation, a rural-based non-governmental organization (NGO) which works with local communities to fight poverty and disadvantage through integrated development programs, we have had cause to intervene in the case of seven year old Lois who was tortured and accused for being a witch and responsible for the death of her parents who died of HIV/AIDS and a number of other people in the community most of whom died of the same disease. While we engaged her family members and the community leaders in a round table talk for Lois to be handed over to Fantsuam Foundation for care under our OVC program, a few days later day of August t0 be precise) Lois was mysteriously found dead in a well.

While we were mourning the loss of young Lois, it came to our attention that another eight-year-old girl was undergoing torture after being accused of being a witch, this was within ten days of Lois death. We contacted the priest of the church her family attends (and through him insisted that the parents must go for a HIV taste to ascertain their status) and we were able to temporally calm the case. We eventually had to arrange for the young girl to be taken away from her home to live with relatives. This sort of attitude breeds a pattern of behavior we have identified and thus it has became inevitable to search for a long-term solution. Lois of blessed memory was not the first to pass through that kind of torture, our fear is the fact that this incidence is bound to increase.

ABOUT ME: My Name is RAYMOND. I am a member of childrens computer club Fanstuam Nigeria .I like playing volleyball,golf,and chess.i am in JSS3, my education is my first priority i want to become a doctor in future not a mere doctor but a proffesonal.i want to bring the end to so many diseases.i know you may think i have a disease thats why i said so but i dont have a disease is because i can see my people suffering so i want to bring an end to their suffering, i also like cars like mercedes jeep,to mention but a few.

I live at kafanchan in kaduna state of nigeria,and in kafanchan the people are mainly farmers,and the are mostly christians the tribe of the kafancan people is fanstuam.and they are a very peaceful people they live in harmony with each other.and in kafanchan we have other tribes like the ibgos,yoruba etc.kafanchan is a very good place to be and i am happy living there. our class for this month is on the solar system,and we are learning a lot about our planet i learned that pluto was removed from the list of planet.i learned about mars that mars is the fourth planet from the sun and its surface is being change by volcanoes and is made up of metal and silicate and it is red thats why its nicknamed the red planet.i also learn that human beings can survive in mars because the said there is some evidence that there is ice there i also learned about galaxy but i dont want to talk about it right now but soon i will give you all the details.A galaxy is a massive gravitational bound made up of stars.
